While the majority of our
guests are bird watchers, we also serve many
business and other travelers and extended-stay
guests. We are located close to McAllen Airport, in
the center of the richest birding area in U.S., the
Lower Rio Grande Valley, just ten minutes from Santa
Ana National Wildlife Refuge, and close to five of
the World Birding Centers, and NABA butterfly park.
For convenience we provide optional self-serve
breakfast and lunch in season (fall through spring),
and Tex-Mex dinner is available next door at El
Dorado restaurant.
Our historic 1919 Alamo Land
and Sugar Company building offers suites furnished
with family antiques, private en suite bathrooms,
kitchenettes, and queen beds. Our 1970s Wesmor
suites building is also on the original town square
of Alamo, and offers suites with full kitchens,
private en suite bathrooms and king beds. We provide
the atmosphere and hospitality of a traditional bed
and breakfast with the comfort, spaciousness and
